William H. Lowe, 70 of Marion passed away at 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at home
after an extended illness.
Bill was born December 12, 1952, in Carbondale to Harry and Jeanetta Rosaleen (Peebles)
Lowe, Jr.
Bill was an interior and exterior painter for over 40 years who owned and operated his own
business, Bill Lowe Painting for over 18 years. He enjoyed the challenges of his work, the
people he worked with, and the clients who often became his friends. He loved to share his life
story with his clients and brag on his grandchildren.
Bill loved fishing with his only grandson and buying toys and gifts for his granddaughters. He
was a very generous man and an inspiration to so many.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Brenda Lowe along with stepchildren Steven Craig of
Marion, IL; Khara (Eric) Kelly of Thompsonville, IL; John (Kelli) Craig of Arnold, MO and
granddaughter Nikki (Bryan) Anderson [great-grandchildren K.K, Madi, Maci and McKynzee] of
Marion; granddaughter Madison (Griffin) Futrell of Hopkinsville, KY; granddaughter Kaydence
Kelly of Marion and grandson Will Kelly of Marion; sisters, Vicki Boaz of Herrin, Pam (Bruce)
Mandrell of Longmont, CO, brother, David Lowe of Crab Orchard; sister Debbie Smith of
Waterloo, Deana Batson of Smithton, and Dianne (Bill) Akrens of Webster Groves, MO; and
brother John (Donna) Lowe of Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sherry Emery and Suzanne Sappington.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023. Interment will be at Rosehill cemetery following services.
Binkley-Ross Funeral Home in Marion has been entrusted with the arrangements. In Lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be directed to the American Cancer Society.
