Opal Irene Wade, 98, of Marion, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Integrity Healthcare of Marion. Opal was born on June 18, 1924, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Loro Ambrose Lytle and Minnie (Starwalt) Lytle-Kibler. She grew up in Newton, Illinois and was a devoted member of the local church in Toledo, Illinois.
Opal worked in childcare, offering care to children inside her home as well as at the daycare in Lake Bluff, Illinois. She was a highly honored volunteer to many organizations. She was a kind person with a sweet and loving nature. She was an angel on earth.
She is survived by her devoted and loyal daughter, Anna Wade; two sons, Bud and Ken Wade; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and her uncle Dana Starwalt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Loro Lytle Jr.
Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist her family with arrangements. Inurnment will take place over Labor Day weekend at Jewitt Cemetery, next to her parents, three baby sisters, and her brother and his wife.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
