Norman Skoog Obituary

Norman L. Skoog age 89, passed away peacefully at home answering his calling to God, surrounded by love and his family on Friday, March 29, 2024.

He was born in Pine Township on July 23, 1934, to parents John and Jessie Skoog.

Norman was a lifelong Benton County, Indiana resident active within the community with a focus on supporting and building a better life for those who surrounded him.  Of the many accomplishments and achievements, he was a veteran of the armed forces, sat on elective boards and ballots, was a farmer by trade and would without question help those in need with understanding and kindness.

A follower of Christ and the Lutheran Church.  He lived a life of grace and worship.  Most proud was he of his years of love and time spent with his wife of 52 years, Vandene Skoog who survives.  His family was the light of his eyes and the beat of his heart.

He leaves this life leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure to surround themselves around him.  Caring and loving is how he will always be remembered along with the beautiful smile he would always wear around those he loved.

Norman is survived by his wife Vandene Skoog, son Curtis (Kathy) Skoog, granddaughter Mandy (Phillip) Julian, great grandchildren Emma and Caeden Julian.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Residential Hospice Care, for the loving care and support they provided for the last few months.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
