Debra “Debbie” Vaupel, 62, of Marion passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Debbie was born on December 17, 1960 in South Haven, Michigan to Ronald and Faye (Estes) Shoff. She married Dwain Vaupel on May 25, 1980 in Carmi, Illinois and together they shared 43 years of marriage. Debbie loved to play card games, board games, shopping, cooking and traveling. Above all Debbie cherished her family and spending time with them was what she truly loved the most. Having her family all together, laughing and enjoying each other was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband, Dwain; daughter, Courtney (Stephan) Ackermann; son, Ryan (Jenna) Vaupel; four grandchildren, Aubrey, Lila, Lucie and Nolan all of Marion; her mother, Faye (Brad) Waldrop of Nashville, TN; sister, Denise (Hicks) Watson of Nashville, TN; brother, Danny (Jana) Shoff of Marion; sister-in-law, Vickie Shoff of MI; brother-in-law, Kenny (Laurie) Vaupel of Sarasota, FL; brother-in-law, David (Mindy) Vaupel of Swansea, IL; sister-in-law, Dianna (Mike) Anderson of Carmi, IL; sister-in-law, Becky (Don) Puckett of Carmi, IL; several nieces and nephews; and friends for over 30 years, that became family, Monte and Jeanie Blue, Chris Blue and kids and Kelli Overson and kids. Debbie thoroughly enjoyed beating Monte in whatever game they were playing.
She was preceded in death by her father; brother, David Shoff; and in-laws, Lowell and Carolyn Vaupel.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 2-4 pm at Binkley- Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 W. Boulevard in Marion. Funeral services will be private. It was Debbie’s request that donations be made to the Ocular Melanoma  Foundation, 1717 K St NW, Suite 900, Washington, DC 20006, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
