OBITUARY

Charles "Charlie" Logan Mulholland, 76, of Marion, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 5:19 pm, at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Charlie was born on January 17, 1945, at 7:11 am at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, IL, Washington County. He was the son of Leonard Guy and Margaret Louise (Cunningham) Mulholland. He was an only child and grew up in Coulterville, IL.

Charlie was a 1963 graduate of Coulterville High School. For three years he served as Class Vice President, he was a member of the Letterman's Club, and he played on the basketball team. For two years he played on the baseball team.

He married, Kimberly Ann (Sims) Mulholland on October 17, 1998. Together they enjoyed 22 years of marriage. They had four children, Lori, Rick, Kurby, and Nathan.

Charlie and Kim have been members of Third Baptist Church since 2006. He sang in the choir at church. He was a Mason and Shriner, a lifetime member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #89 A.F & A.M. of Marion, he was a member of Scottish Rite Masonic Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois and member of the Williamson County Shrine Club for over 50 years. He was a member of the NRA, he coached youth baseball from 1974-1979. He was the assistant coach for Crab Orchard from 2009-2012. He also coached the Fabick Pony League team and the All-Star team for many years. He was a member of the Lion's Club. He was an enthusiast of horror films. He also was a member of the MS Society.

He worked as a manager at Kroger from 1968-1973, Kaeser Lumber from 1974-1983, he was an over the road truck driver for Schneider International from 1986-2003, he was a bus driver for the Marion School District from 2015-2017, and most recently worked as a security guard for Securitas from 2018-2021. He was a master carpenter and held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, watching Cardinal baseball, traveling, working the BBQ Day at opening day for Marion Baseball at Ray Fosse Park, watching Nascar, and the Green Bay Packers. He loved his Pepsi and his red Chevy truck. He loved his dog, Sadie. He enjoyed going to KB BBQ and Riley's with his buddies.

Surviving are his wife, Kim; his children, Lori (Bill) Thomas, Rick Mulholland, Kurby Mulholland, and Nathan Nichelson; his grandchildren, Alexis Cole, Ariel Cole, and John Paul Cole, Jr., of Baraboo, WI; Alyssa Nichelson of Evansville, IN; Aerica Nichelson, of Marion, IL.; his mother and father-in-law, Donna and Ken Sims; his brother-in-law, Kenny Sims; his nephews, Anthony (Shara) Sims and Austin (Samantha) Sims of Marion, IL; his great nieces and nephew, Austyn Sims and Adalynn Sims of Iowa; Aiden Sims of Marion, IL; his cousins, Bob Mulholland of Marissa, IL, and Leonard and Mary Mulholland of Coulterville, IL; along with many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Cari Jo Cole; his cousins, Dorothy McKinney, Joan Little, and Ray Mulholland; along with many friends.

A memorial visitation is planned for Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 1-3 PM. Memorial Services will begin at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Larry Shacklee officiating. All services will be held at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home, located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street, Marion, IL., under the direction of Joni Binkley- Ross and Monte Blue.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Kim Mulholland to help offset some of Charlie's recent medical expenses.
