Amy Laurel (Lingle) Kimmel, 87, died on November 18, 2023 at her home. Amy was born on March 15, 1936, to Lester and Amy (Stotlar) Lingle in Creal Springs, Illinois.
Amy married Marvin Kimmel on September 11, 1954, and moved to California where Marvin was stationed in the Air Force.
After returning to Southern Illinois, Amy was a farm wife who shared her time with Home Extensions and as a 4-H leader for many years.
Amy is survived by her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Lorelei (husband, Lindsey) Powell of Creal Springs, Illinois and Kay (Brent Lappin) Kimmel of Burbank, California; four grandchildren, Tim Kane of Sherman, Illinois, Charlotte Kane of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mariah(Powell) Bean (husband Levi) and Grady Powell of Creal Springs, Illinois; four great grandchildren Liam and Max Kane of Springfield and Caroline and Jace Bean of Creal Springs; nieces and nephews along with close extended family, Joy and Donnie King.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frederick Lingle; daughter, Abigail Kane; father and mother-in-law, S.L. and Julia Kimmel; sister in-law, Zora Cook; and her beloved dog, Jimmy.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street, Marion, Illinois. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Dale King officiating. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the County Line Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
