Velma Regina Franklin

Velma "Jean" Franklin, of Marion Illinois, passed away on June 4, 2025. Velma was born August 20, 1934, to Roma Rue Dunbar and Regina (Roll) Dunbar.

Jean is survived by her husband Coy Franklin; daughter Becky Robertson; grandchildren Jason Robertson; Jared (Heather) Robertson, Amy Whitehead and her fiancé Josh Johnson, Daniel (Erica) Whitehead, Rachael (Keith) Dasilva, her great grandchildren; Remi Robertson, Beau and Aisley Whitehead and Cora Dasilva. She is also survived by her sister, Norma "Francie" Miner. She also leaves behind her best friend Pam Krantz, coworkers and special friends, Parish Purnell, Drayah Hill and her fur baby, Jordan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings William Dunbar, Dorothy Haymaker, and Thelma Holloway; and her sons, Mike Whitehead and Jackie Whitehead.

Velma started her own shop called Hair and Crafts where she dedicated over sixty plus years. She was spirit-filled and dedicated to her work and family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Following in accordance to her wishes, there will be no public service. Private inurnment will take place at Rosehill Cemetery in Marion.
