Thomas T McClanahan

Marion Thomas Tom McClanahan, 96, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 2:55 P.M. at Heritage Manor in Bloomington, IL where he had resided the last four months. Tom was born April 6, 1908 in Marion, a son of John & Anna Perry McClanahan. He spent his life in Marion and Chicago where he was employed for many years. Tom enjoyed writing poetry and has had several poems published. He was also an avid Cubs fan for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline (Gilley), an infant son, his parents, a brother, John Franklin Jr, 2 sisters, Kate and Beulah. His sister, Martha, 2 nieces Marla and Jeannie, 2 grandnieces and a grandnephew, many members of his wifes family and many good friends survive him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Donald Fisher of Grantsburg officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home.
