In Loving Memory

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Theodore (Ted) K (Keith) Price, age 94, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at home. He was born to Lewis & Emma (Land) Price on April 24, 1931, in Des Plains, IL. As a young child, his family moved to Terre Haute, IN where he grew up, graduating from high school. He enlisted in the Army and honorably served in the Korean Conflict.

After returning home he met and married Elizabeth (Betty) Elrod in Terre Haute, IN. They shared over 57 years of marriage, and 6 children. Ted became a career electrician and worked many years in commercial construction. After moving to Illinois, he took a position with CIPS (later known as Ameren) where he retired. He enjoyed reading, traveling the country with his wife in retirement, playing golf, and watching/following his grandchildren & great grandchildren in their many activities (baseball, softball, volleyball, figure skating & dance). He was proud of every one of them. Ted recently had the opportunity to participate in an Old Glory Honor Flight in the company of his granddaughter (Krystal), which was a moving and rewarding experience for both of them.

Ted is survived by 5 of his children: Thomas Dale Price (Terre Haute, IN), Susan Ann Price Bussing (Terre Haute, IN) Deborah Kay Reed (Dennis) (Appleton, WI), David Roy Price (Marion, IL) and Ruth Ellen Langheld (Grovetown, GA); 9 grandchildren, 12 (+ one on the way) great grandchildren, brother-in-law: Terry Elrod as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his wife: Elizabeth (Betty), son: John Price, parents: Lewis & Emma, In-laws: James Sr & Myrtle Elrod; 3 grandsons’: Jonathan Kyle Price, Keith Price, Donald Reed, sister: Ouida Courtney, brother: Bill Price; sister-in-law: Ruth Price; brothers-in-law: James Elrod, Woodrow Elrod; Donald Elrod; & Timothy Elrod; Walt Courtney.

Per his wishes, his body was donated to the SIU School of Medicine for research & teaching. A joint memorial celebration for Ted and Betty will be held in Terre Haute at a later date where they will be laid to rest together. Binkley-Ross Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.  Please visit www.binkleyross.com to leave online condolences.
