Sally Belle Maynard

October 8, 1935 — January 6, 2026

Sally B. (Walker) Maynard, age 90, passed away on January 6, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Born October 8, 1935, in Alton, Illinois, to Gordon H. Walker and Edna V. (Seago) Walker, Sally was the oldest of seven children. She married Alfred L. Maynard on December 7, 1956, and together they raised four children.

Sally attended Alton High School. She worked for the Olin Corporation and later retired from the accounting department. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout her life, including bowling, reading, sewing, traveling, and gardening. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Southern Illinois Thrillville Thrillbillies—though the Cardinals always held a special place in her heart. She was also a devoted fan of Elvis.

Sally is survived by her children: Wayne Maynard, Leslie Ann (David) Heath, Alan Maynard, and Alicia (Clark) Dixon; granddaughters: Amanda Spade, Kristina (Clint Kuhns) Berg, Serena (Brandon Joyce) Heath, Allison (Phil) Boner, and Sara Dixon; grandson: Cameron Maynard; great-grandsons: Douglas Bain, Steven Bain, and Stephen Spade; great-granddaughters: Alainna Jo Tate, Julia Clare Boner, and Brenna Berg; great-great-grandson: Theodore Bain; sister, Sue (Tom) Cortright; brothers, Philip (Cindy) Walker and Danny Walker; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; her parents, Gordon and Edna; brothers, David and Donald Walker; sister, Sharon Austene; granddaughter, Laura Anne Leffler; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ann Maynard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Additional details, including the date and time, will be announced as they become available.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grange Hall Church.
