Sally Bett (Gibson) Knight December 23, 1935 – April 2, 2026

Our beloved mother, Sally Bett Knight, aged 90, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2026, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She was born on December 23, 1935, in Jacksonville, Il to June L. and Ernest A. Gibson and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Knight.

Sally is survived by daughters Rebecca Hodge and Denise Atkerson; grandchildren Emily and John; great-grandchildren Blake and Cameron and stepdaughters Patricia (Doug) Merenda and Terry Knight.

She had many family ties in Goreville, residing there for twenty years before moving to Michigan. She enjoyed watching, tending and sketching the wildlife that visited her flower boxes, cherished her canine companions throughout the years, was an avid reader, and took many memorable trips with her life-long best friends from Jacksonville High School, Jacksonville, Il.

Sally lived a quiet, fulfilling life and touched the hearts of many. Not a day goes by when you are not loved and missed.

The family will hold a private memorial at the end of May. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Paws in Anna, IL.
