Ruth Gurley

Marion-Ruth Irene Gurley, 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home.

Ruth was born on December 27, 1923 in Johnson County to Dolph and Della (Monroe) Walker Stokes. She married Lora J. Gurley on October 21, 1939.

Ruth spent most of her life as a homemaker. She loved gospel music and enjoyed going to dances with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two sons, Rickey Lynn Gurley and James Lavon Gurley.

Burial will be at Busby Cemetery in Goreville. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
