Russell Gale Darby

Russell Gale Darby, 51, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 12:05 pm at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Russell was born December 2, 1963 in Marion the son of Richard and Nancy (Mabry) Darby. He was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Marion.  Russell graduated from Marion High School and SIU with a degree in Agriculture.  He was an excellent writer and reporter.  He worked at WPS as a claims processor and formerly worked as a newspaper editor. Russell is survived by his; Mother – Nancy Darby of Marion Sister – Faith Fisher of Johnston City Preceded by his Father – Richard Darby Funeral services will be Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff VanDyke officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 2 – 5 pm on Sunday, January 18th at the funeral home.
