Marion Rosemary Kennedy, 71, of Marion passed away at 10:15 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. A memorial-visitation is set for Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rosemary was born in Marion on Tuesday, July 30, 1940 to Eugene & Mary Helen (Jennings) Hodge. She married Roy Kennedy on Wednesday, August 24, 1960 in Marion. Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her husband, Roy; son, David & Jody Kennedy of Marion; grandchildren, Corey Kennedy and Kaci Kennedy; brothers, Bobby & Rosa Hodge and Jimmy Hodge; sisters, Judy & Jim Gentile and Helen Billy Deaton; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Peggy Askew. Rosemary was a homemaker; showering her family with love, comfort and support. She loved all children and especially enjoyed being surrounded by her own grandchildren, Corey & Kaci. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Frankfort.
