Robert Norman Smith

Marion Robert Norman Smitty Smith, 76, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at 12:50 P.M. at his residence. Robert was born September 22, 1928 to Oscar L. & Vinnie (Emery) Smith in Marion. He married Joyce Corrigan on October 30, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois and she survives in Marion. Robert was a driver for Federal Express. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Marion. Robert loved horses, he enjoyed the Marion Saddle Club. Survivors include: Wife Joyce Smith of Marion Daughter Kathleen Shannon and husband Scott of Marion Son Robert W. Smith of Lewisville, TX Six Grandchildren; Kevin Peek James Smith Michelle Goolsby Shawn Smith Curtis Smith Kelly Roath Nine Great Grandchildren Two Brothers; Bill Smith of Steeleville, IL Don Smith of Bland, MO Two Sisters: Sybol Perry of Granite City, IL Margaret Wiseman of Pittsburg, IL Preceded by: Parents, Son Bruce Eugene Smith, Two Sisters Lucille Harris and Alice Hall. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
