Robert D. Rodney

Energy- Robert Dean Rodney, age 70, of Energy, passed away at 2:00am on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home in Energy. Robert was born in Herrin on June 24, 1946, the son of Tom and Reba (Walker) Rodney.  He was a member of the Herrin Elks. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law- Scott and Laura Rodney of Frisco, Texas Daughter- Charla Rodney of San Francisco, California Grandson- William Rodney of Frisco, Texas Granddaughter- Katelyn Rodney of Frisco, Texas Granddaughter- Abigail Rodney of Frisco, Texas Special cousin and caregiver- Loudene Strunk of Herrin He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Jason McKinnies officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
