Richard "Rick" L Nemeth

Richard L “Rick” Nemeth, age 69 of Marion passed away on February 15, 2025, at his home. Rick was born to Robert L and Shirley Nemeth on November 18, 1955, in Marion, Illinois.  He worked in his early years as a carpenter at Inland Steel and retired from Southern Illinois Power Plant.

He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Patti, son Shaun (Brittany) of Marion, daughter Lindsay of Marion; grandchildren Talan and Marlee of Herrin, Camden and Lucca of Marion.  He also leaves behind his twin brother Randy (Marcella) Nemeth of Marion, sister Sheri (Larry) King of Marion, brother-in-law Gene (Carrie) Watson, along with several nieces, nephews, and special friends Tim Baker, John Thomas, and Jim Pearson.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Bob and Shirley Nemeth; nephew Brad Dawes, mother and father-in-law Hallie and Marie Watson.

Arrangements were entrusted to Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. Graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Goddard Chapel in Marion.  Friends and family may begin gathering at 10:00 AM at the chapel.  In lieu of flowers the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be made in Rick’s honor to the organization of the donor’s choice.
