Paul Norman Stahulak passed away suddenly and entered eternal rest on August 15, 2026, at the age of 72. Cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and member of his congregation who will be deeply missed. Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 26, 1954, to his beloved parents Paul J. and Janice. Paul grew up in Burbank, Illinois where he met his high school sweetheart and wife, Debora. 

Over the years, he built a life centered on family and faith. Paul was known for his deep love for his family, one of his biggest goals was to be able to watch his grandchildren grow up. Having fought against the odds with health issues through his life with the help of his wife, son, and daughter Tiffany. The love, care, and attention given to him by his daughter Tiffany and wife Debora often helped give him the strength he needed to push through. He was able to pass on his love of fish and fishing to his son and grandchildren. He was often happiest fishing, on the water, or surrounded by those he loved. He was deeply connected to his church, Purpose House Church in Herrin, Illinois. He took great pride in being able to help serve at the church, commute members in the cart, contribute to the men's group and help in any way he could. Having found God and the community in the church was something he was grateful for, often talking and telling stories of how he was able to help. He was known to be a stubborn man, a loving father, devoted husband, avid storyteller, and a helping hand. He was someone who stood his ground, always fighting for what he believed to be right, his family, and providing all he could. He was a member of the Greenwater Aquarist Society, where he won numerous awards for the quality of fish he raised and bred. 

He’s survived by his devoted wife Debora; son Paul N. (Lisa); daughter Tiffany; and his three grandchildren Brody, Rehn, and Tessa-Kay. He also leaves behind his father Paul J. Stahulak (Elizabeth) and brother Michael (Maureen). 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice, his brother John{jack}, paternal grandfather and grandmother Paul and Pearl and maternal grandmother Neva Simpson.

James 1:12 “Blessed is the one who preserves under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” 

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” 

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” 

Paul’s favorite verse was as follows; Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am in the midst of them.”
