Paul David Carnaghi

Paul David Carnaghi, age 71, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Sunshine Gardens in Marion, Illinois.

Paul was born on August 18, 1955, in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Frank and Emma (Holder) Carnaghi. On April 12, 1997, he married Brandy Carnaghi, who survives.

Paul worked as a coal miner for over 15 years before later retiring from his position as a manager at Kroger. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and was especially proud of the big, delicious tomatoes he grew. Paul will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature and the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband who loved Brandy dearly and always treated her with kindness and care.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brandy Carnaghi; his children, Matt Carnaghi, Michelle (Daniel) Brown, and Bailey (James) Key; his grandchildren, Hailey, Dylan, Aniston, Jaiden, and Josey; his mother-in-law, Linda Miller; and his beloved cat, Kitty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma Carnaghi; his brother, Greg Carnaghi; and his father-in-law, Edward W. Miller.

In accordance with Paul’s wishes, cremation will take place, and no public services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paul’s honor to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Alzheimer's Association .
