Novella Rix Marion- Ruth Novella Rix, 86, of Marion, passed away at 10:50 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with the Reverend Jason Jean officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 10:00-11:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Barham Cemetery in Marion (located inside Rose Hill Cemetery). Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the Funeral Home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Novella was born on November 8, 1924 in Williamson County, IL to Luther & Marie (Perrin) Kelley. She married Harold Eugene Rix on April 23, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL; he preceded her on November 30, 2001. She is survived by her children, Larry E. Rix & special friend Sandi Dutton and Kelley W. Rix & fiancé Shelly Rongey all of Marion; grandchildren, Jason & Kristi Rix, Justin & Susan Rix, Jodey Rix, Josey & Brooke Rix, Wyatt Rix and Brandy Kipping; great-grandchildren, Tyler Rix, Trevor Rix, Will Rix, Isabel Rix, Tucker Rix, Kelley Jo Rix and Kaleigh Kipping; brother, Robert Kelley of Marion; sisters-in-law, Delores Rix and Irene Rix; several nieces and nephews. Novella was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Novella was a faithful and longtime member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion. She was primarily a loving homemaker, but was also a retired beauty operator who was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed working in her yard.
