NonaEl J. Nichols Tunnel Hill-NonaEl J. Nichols, 83, of Tunnel Hill passed away at 7:49 PM, Friday, October 3, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Pastor Howard Strunk officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband Leo of Tunnel Hill; children, Mike Nichols and Linda Snyder of Milton, Wisconsin, Cindy and Lee Swinehart of Tunnel Hill, Patti and Ed Dudock of Friendsville, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Christopher Dudock and Shara Luckett, Paul Dudock, And Nicholas Dudock; a great grandchild is on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mazie Finley. Mrs. Nichols was a naturalist and loved her animals; she was an avid collector of Raccoons. She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for many years as a supervisor. She was former president of the ladies Auxiliary in Elburn, Illinois. She was an active member of the Johnson County Homemakers and the Bethleham Church. She was also a lifetime member of the Fox Valley Saddle Association in Elgin, Illinois.
