Nellie R. Green Marion-Nellie R. Green, 98, of Marion, passed away at 8:20 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Graveside services for Nellie will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion with Reverend Mike Hood officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements. Nellie was born February 12, 1913 in Marion to Ernest & Myrtle (Howard) McClanahan. She married Aaron L. Green on June 28, 1930; he preceded her on May 5, 1978. Survivors include her children, Billy M. Green, Donald E. Green and Robert W. Green; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Thomas A. Green and 11 siblings. She was a member of Scottsboro Baptist Church in Marion and had lived at her residence for over 80 years.
