Nancy Oakes Lawhun

Nancy Oakes Lawhun, 76, died Monday May 10, 2004 at 8:20 A.M. in Shawnee Christian Nursing Home. Nancy was an only child born to Don C. and Lillian (Knapp) Oakes in Pekin, Illinois on December 16, 1927. Nancy was a proofreader for Pantagraph News Publishers, and she also worked for the Marion Daily Republican. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in West Frankfort. Survivors include: Two (2) Sons: Milford R. Lawhun, Jr. of Kettering, OH Brent VanBanbber of Jonesboro, IL Three (3) Daughters: Nancy Hoff of Bloomington, IL Diana L. Niebrugge of Effingham, IL Sandra G. Lawhun of Charlotte, NC Four (4) Grandchildren Preceded by Parents, Son, John O. Lawhun A private visitation was held at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
