Mildred Rice

Mildred (Billups) Rice, 93, of Carbondale, died at 9:35 AM, Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Herrin Hospital. She was born on Thursday, August 19, 1909, at her family home in Matthews, VA. to Ernest Linwood & Sarah James (Williams) Billups. She married George Albert Rice, Jr. on July 19,1937 in Norfolk, VA. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1981 in Olney, MD. Mildred was a homemaker in her own home. SURVIVORS: Son- Don Stephen Rice & wife Prudence of Carbondale Sister- Evelyn (Billups) Arnold of Deltaville, VA Niece- Ann (White) Parrish & husband Leon of Hallieford, VA Niece- Suzanne (White) Carmean of Ware Neck, VA Niece- Lynda (Arnold) Emerson of Deltaville, VA Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters; Doris Clemen & Margaret White A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gloucester Point, VA.
