Michael W. Martin GOREVILLE– Michael W. Martin, 58, of Goreville passed away at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday evening by Saline Masonic Lodge 339. Burial will be at Busby Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Michael was born April 12, 1952 in Anna to William Harrison and Jolene (Lawerence) Martin. Survivors include sister, Jeneane Martin; daughters, Chandara Schierbaum and Stephanie Motsinger; grandchildren, Destini Winstead, Jerrid Warren, Chris Schierbaum and Abigail Motsinger; aunts, Katherine Dunning, Helen Sitter and Clara Lou Simmons; cousins, Cathy Russell, Roger Lawerence, Virginia Harner, David Lawerence, Paul Lawerence, Lennie Ray Lawerence; and many other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick Lawerence Martin; and aunts, Eleanor Martin, Marion Williams and Marjorie Dowdy. Michael worked as an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad. He was an avid cattle rancher.
