Mary Lee English

Mary Lee English Herrin-Mary L. English, 84, of Herrin, passed peacefully surrounded by her family, at 9:10 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center. Funeral services for Mary will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday. Blue Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mary Lee was born March 28, 1926 in Williamson County to Otto & Georgia (Mason) Marshall. She married Harvey F. English, Sr., with whom she had four children; he preceded her on May 30, 2006. She is survived by her children, Jimmy English, Harvey F. & Rima English, Jr., Iris & Del Smith, all of Herrin, and Joy & Bob Radford of Carterville; brother, Bruce & Renee Marshall; grandchildren, Shawn English, Brandy Belcher, Teresa Whitecotton, Gina Goetz, Michele Vaughn, Heather Staley, Ryan Radford, Mary Childers, Matt Smith and Kim Haskins; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Mary was preceded by her parents; loving husband, Harvey and sister, Isabelle Crouch. She was a clerical worker at Norge in Herrin and, most importantly, a homemaker. Mary was known for her wonderful cooking and fancied yard sales. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend. Mary Lee will be missed by all who knew her.
