Mary Joritz

Marion Mary Joritz, 96, of Marion, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2002 at Marion Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion, with the Rev. Tim Greiner officiating. Mary was born March 31, 1906 in Carterville, Illinois to Addson and Minerva (Odum) Gunter. She married Herman Joritz; he passed away on November 8, 1959. Two granddaughters survive, Carla Spowart of West Frankfort, IL and Sharon Lewis of Carterville, IL. Her parents, husband, a son, Raymond Byrd, a brother, Ralph Gunter, two sisters, Mildred Greenwalt and Ethel Chapman preceded her in death.
