Marlon Cortez Thompson, age 46, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:41 p.m. at Heartland Regional Medical Center of Marion.
Marlon was born on June 9, 1974 in Maywood, Illinois, the son of Vernon and Anita (Jones) Thompson. Marlon was a fantastic cook and enjoyed tinkering with electronics.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Vernon (Shirley) Thompson; brother, Demetrius Williams; sisters, Natasha Nichole (Sam) Jones and Vernisha Thompson; girlfriend, Michelle Carter; beloved friends, Rudy Hortin and family, Mauriel Campbell and family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Jones-Thompson.
Marlon’s wishes were to be cremated. No services will be held.
