Marilyn Jean Webb, age 94, of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025.
Born on April 19, 1931, in Grand Chain, Illinois, Marilyn was the daughter of Guy Harris and Edna James. She married Chuck Webb, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. Marilyn worked in accounting for the State of Illinois, where her diligence and integrity were deeply valued.
A woman of many joys, Marilyn loved traveling, attending church, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sharing music—especially through playing the piano and singing. She was a charter member of the Lake of Egypt Christian Church, where her faith and fellowship enriched the lives of many.
Marilyn’s legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Kelsey (Corey) Rood, Lance (Maranda) Merchant, and Andrea Merchant; her great-grandchildren: Amelia Rood, Briley Merchant, and Brynna Merchant; her stepdaughter, Mary Webb; her niece, Sharon Earls; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chuck; her son, Jay Merchant; and her sister, Maxine Ney.
Arrangements were entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. The Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The Lake of Egypt Christian Church. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Leroy Waggoner officiating. A luncheon will follow the service, offering a time for fellowship and remembrance. Inurnment will take place at Webb Cemetery in Tunnel Hill.
