Marie Cotilla Waldschmidt

Energy- Marie Cotilla Aunt B Waldschmidt, 95, of Energy, formerly of Cairo, passed away at 5:12 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at Herrin Hospital. Marie was born on September 12, 1910 in Mounds, IL to George & Etta (Waller) Cotilla. She married Howard G. Waldschmidt on April 3, 1940 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1974. Mrs. Waldschmidt was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a member and past Sunday school teacher at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cairo. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of both Herrin Hospital and Hospice of Southern Illinois. SURVIVORS: Brother & sister in law- Charles & Geraldine Cotilla- Sarasota, FL Niece & caregiver- Rosemary Hall- Energy Special great great nephews- Evan & Phillip Hall- Energy Many other nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers; John, Herbert, Frank and George Cotilla, and one sister; Anna Cotilla Jaynes. As per her wishes, her body will be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin has been entrusted with memorial arrangements.
