Margaret I. Shirley

Herrin- Margaret Ilene Shirley, 79, of Herrin, passed away at 12:15 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2006 at her home. Margaret was born on April 20, 1926 in Herrin to Joe & Nona (Harper) Poff. She married Virgil Leroy Shirley on January 18, 1946 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2005. Mrs. Shirley was a homemaker and a member of West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin. She enjoyed working around her house and volunteering in the church kitchen. SURVIVORS: Son & daughter in law- Donald & Susan Shirley of Johnston City Daughter & son in law- Janet & Sam Pedigo of Johnston City Grandchildren: Michael Shirley and wife Ashley of Dyersburg, TN Tammy Emery and husband Jeff of DuQuoin, IL Great Grandchildren: Anthony Emery of DuQuoin, IL Hayden Shirley of Dyersburg, TN Brother- Bill Poff of St. Louis, MO Sister and brother in law- Daisy and Harold Shirley of Herrin Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter; Brenda Kay Shirley and one brother; George Poff. Private graveside services will be held at Blairsville Cemetery on Monday, April 10, 2006. Rev. Terry Griffith will officiate.
