Linda Gayle Scott

Linda Gayle Scott (Jacobs), age 70, passed away on April 27, 2026, at Deaconess Medical Center of Illinois. She was born on March 26, 1956, in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of Dahmer Jacobs and Mildred Peoton.

Linda was a homemaker who found joy in the simple things in life. She loved listening to Elvis Presley and spending time watching her favorite television shows.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Johnson and Kim (Nick Funk) Jacobs; her grandchildren, Sean, Josh, Cheyenne, and Joseph; and her great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae, Dave, and Karson. She is also survived by her siblings, Troy (Rachel) Richardson, Debbie (Charlie) Crites, and Tim (Donna) Jacobs, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Scott, who passed away on July 3, 2022; her parents; and her siblings, Betsy Scoggins, Johnnie (Dennis) Crites, Louise Kirby, Carolyn Jacobs, Mike Jacobs, and Roy Keaton.
