Lex Bradley Turner, born November 23, 1958, of Carbondale, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on April 1st, surrounded by the love of his family.
Lex was born to Paul and Carolyn (South) Turner and raised in Carbondale. He attended Carbondale High School and graduated from the University of Southern Illinois.
Lex built a life rooted in hard work, deep relationships, and a love for the outdoors. He dedicated his career as a lineman with Ameren, a role he carried out with strength, skill, and pride over the years.
He was a man who drew people in effortlessly. Known for his magnetic personality and quick humor, Lex had a way of making others feel at ease, turning ordinary moments into ones filled with laughter and enjoyment. He was deeply loved by his many friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lex found great joy in the outdoors, especially in hunting. Of all his pursuits, turkey hunting held a special place in his heart, offering him both peace and connection to the life he loved.
Above all, Lex was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Catherine Fay Turner; his children, Chelsea Rae Turner (Gina) and Eric Paul Turner (Emilie). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Hux Turner (8), Gatlin Turner (5), and Wren Turner (4), and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his newest grandson and namesake, Lexington William Turner.
He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn South (91); his sister, Kim Reynolds, and brother-in-law, Bill Reynolds; as well as his nephews (Ryan and Ross Reynolds) and their families, all of whom he loved dearly.
Lex was preceded in death by his father, Paul Leslie Turner.
His legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. While we mourn, we rejoice in knowing that Lex is now resting in the presence of the Lord, made whole and at peace.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley Ross Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Once the arrangements are complete, more details will be shared.
In lieu of flowers, please make a legacy donation in honor of Lex to the National Wild Turkey Federation.
