LaVonne M Frigo

March 12, 1932 — April 5, 2026

St. Louis

LaVonne M. (Volluz) Frigo, 94, of St. Louis, MO was baptized in the hope of Christ's Resurrection on Sunday, April 5th, 2026.

She was born on March 12, 1932, to Emery Joseph and Lillian Volluz in St. Louis, MO.

Dear mother of Kathy (Dannie) Holbrook, extended family Danielle Holbrook, Krista (Joe) Hayes, Danika and Harper, dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her husband Alex, son Gene, her parents Emery and Lillian, her brothers Maurice and Ray, and her sister Lucille.

After raising her family, LaVonne went to work for Ozark Airlines and then, TWA. During her employment, and long after retirement, LaVonne volunteered and operated a non-profit for Operation Liftoff, an organization dedicated to providing hope and support to courageous children facing life threatening illnesses. Their mission was to offer air transportation for treatment trips, ensuring that no child is turned away. Mission accomplished! After many special trips for the kids during the life of the organization, it and her store closed permanently just a few years ago.

LaVonne served on parish council at St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church. She was an active member of the parish for over 60 years. She also distributed sack lunches in the summer months to kids in need. It was always about the kids for LaVonne.

She loved to travel. Go, go, go she did with so many friends and family. Although she never learned to swim, she still liked the water - trips to the lake and boating were always her favorite. Lavonne loved her family and many friends she shared life with. She left a little sparkle wherever she went.

LaVonne decided many years ago to donate her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine. Gift of Body is quite the decision to make. SLU received her body on Tuesday, April 7th.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley Ross Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held at St. Matthias the Apostle, 796 Buckley Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125 on May 1st at 10am, hosted by family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Marion Location, 204 Halfway Rd., Marion, Il 62959.

We will miss her so much. Her beautiful smile, her style and her class will never be forgotten.
