Kathy Ann Jones

Kathy Jones, 69, of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025.

Kathy was born and raised in southern Illinois and devoted her life to caring for others. A Registered Nurse until becoming medically retired, she carried her compassion and steady strength into every part of her life. Even after leaving nursing, she continued serving her community by volunteering at a local food pantry, sharing kindness with everyone she met.

Kathy was a proud and active member of Stonefort General Baptist Church, where her faith was a central anchor throughout her life. She also enjoyed crafts and puzzles and was known for the love and creativity she poured into everything she made. As a proud Army wife, she supported her husband and family with unwavering loyalty, resilience, and grace.

She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Jones; her son, Matt Jones, and daughter-in-law, Kyndra Jones; and her grandchildren, Connor and Kayleigh Brown, who brought tremendous joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Jennifer Chandler; her brother, Robert Shadowens; and her mother, Shirley Mandrell.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, John Shadowens; step-father, Vernon Mandrell; and brothers Daniel Shadowens, David Shadowens, and Tim Mandrell.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley Ross. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, Illinois. Visitation begins at 9:00am and services to follow at 11:00am. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Kathy’s life, her compassion, and the love she shared with all who knew her.

Kathy will be remembered for her generous heart, steadfast faith, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of service and love will continue to inspire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
