JOHN WESLEY BENTON Marion John Wesley Benton, 67, died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 12:15 A.M. in Heartland Regional Medical Center. John was born January 28, 1936 to Andrew Jackson Jack and Nora (Beasley) Benton in Williamson County. He was married to the former Carlene Dixon Shaw and she preceded him in death in 1993. John was retired from Marion #100 Factory and in later years was a successful short story writer. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include: Sister Betty Newbolds of Marion Nephews Four (4) Preceded by: Parents, Brother, Andrew Jackson Jack Benton Funeral services will be Saturday November 15 at 10:00 A.M.at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with his friends Ronnie Evans, Joe Mathis and Marvin Fry officiating the service.. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
