JoAnn Temple

JoAnn Temple, age 82, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Herrin Hospital.

JoAnn was born March 29, 1940 in Maryville MO.; a daughter of James Russell and Marge Lavera (Cook) Postlewait. She married Kenton Temple on August 02, 1980. Prior to her retirement, JoAnn had worked as a nursing assistant for area nursing homes, the latest being Shawnee Christian. She had also worked many years for Wal-Mart. One of her greatest joys was being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her spouse Kenton Temple; seven children, Janet (Gib) Thomas, John (Staci) Coulter, Joe (Candy) Coulter, Jeff (Christy Anderson) Coulter, Scott Temple, Phillip (Mari Campbell) Temple, and Kenny (Tracy Chapman) Temple; four siblings, Sandra Morgan, Cindy (Rob) Stevens, Susie (James) Mather, and Steve Postlewait; twenty-six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son, James Coulter; her parents, Marge (Cook) and James Postelwait; her brother, Robert Postlewait; one brother-in-law, Joe Morgan; and a stillborn infant daughter, Jill Coulter.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
