Janice Sue Parker, age 82, passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband, Skip. She was born on June 25, 1943, in New Columbia, Illinois.
On May 16, 1986, she married the love of her life, Clyde “Skip” Parker, who survives.
Janice’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Spending time with them was her favorite pastime, and she treasured every moment they shared together. Janice also enjoyed flower gardening, going to yard sales, and taking daily walks along the lane near their home. She and Skip looked forward every five years to celebrating their anniversary with a trip to the Smoky Mountains, where they enjoyed staying in a cabin and making lasting memories together. One especially treasured vacation included all of their grandchildren, creating memories that would be cherished for years to come.
She attended Bible study at the Royalton Nazarene Church and found great comfort in her faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Skip Parker; her sons, Ernie Lee Hampton (Jan), Bryan Lee Hampton (Suzy) and Boyd Lee Hampton Jr. (Charlotte); grandchildren, Cody Hampton, Sierra Hoffman (Mike), Catie Gibbens (Lane), Brianne Hampton, Kalep Hampton, Aaron Hampton, Rachel Hampton and Heather, Tara, Megan, and Jordan; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Deb Parker (John Ward) along with other relatives and many friends. Janice was affectionately known as “G-Maw” by her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved and adored.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Yancey and Sally Dowell; and her brother, Ernie Curby.
Blue Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and no public services will be held.
For those wishing to honor her memory, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
