James Wilson Rogers

James "Jim" Wilson Rogers, 85 years old, passed away on August 4, 2025, at his home. He was born February 8, 1940, in Makanda, Illinois. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Chlolia "Sally" Rogers, son Clayton Howard Rogers, grandson, Joshua Clayton Rogers, brother Raymond Rogers and sister Peggy Seyferth.

Jim married Vera Qualls on June 14, 1958, and they have shared 67 years of marriage.

Jim spent his professional life working for IDOT as an engineering technician. After retirement he loved Jeeping, motorcycling, hiking and flying his powered parachute.

Many hours were spent sitting in "his swing" by the lake. He especially loved spending time outdoors with his kids and grandkids. He will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vera Rogers of Marion, Illinois. His children Teresa (Rogers) Williams of Marion, Illinois and James "Sam" Rogers of Marion, Illinois. Grandchildren, Robin "Jerry" Szczeblewski of Carterville, Illinois, Heather "Charles" Wood of Marion, Illinois, Hayley Rogers of Marion, Illinois, Allison "Jakob" Wilson of Marion, Illinois, along with two great-granddaughters, Madyson "Zeb" Goodman and Cydnee Wood both of Marion, Illinois and one great grandson, Ryland Szczeblewski of Carterville, Illinois and one great-great grandbaby, not yet here, Baby Goodman. Per Jim's wishes he will be cremated with no service.
