She met Wayne while he was working on a road near her home. She gave him an apple, and their friendship was formed. Their first date was going out to eat in Dad’s 1937 Ford. They enjoyed doing all things together! Attending Walnut Hill and Arnold View Freewill Baptist Churches. Both of them are long time members of AVFWB Church. Church and Sunday school for them and their family was the main priority in life. Their faith is deeply rooted in serving God. Camping, fishing, vacations, traveling, sports, horse shows, were just a few of their hobbies. Lifelong Rend Lake lovers of camping and fishing for over 35 years together! Hazel was the glue for the family! Always ready to go, she loved attending any activity her kids and grandkids were doing! After building their dream home together in 1978 their family began to grow much larger! Hazel’s life revolved mainly around her husband, family, and grandkids! She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader! She loved always keeping a very tidy home and manicured lawn! Hazel will be missed by many. Her laughter, love, strength and spirit will live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was truly a Proverbs 13 woman. Faith and family were her life. She was love in action every day. Her presence may be gone, but never from our heart & memories.
