Harold Dean Hill went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2026. He married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Bush, on June 23, 1956. They had two sons: Brad Hill of Huntsville, Alabama, and Don Hill of Crab Orchard.

Harold entered the U.S. Army in September 1957 and was deployed to Germany, where he spent his entire term of service until his discharge in July 1958. He was employed by Inland Steel/Consolidation Coal Company in Sesser for 25 years before retiring in 1994. Harold spent his retirement years assisting his son Don in his construction business at every opportunity. He was a member of the UMWA and a devoted member of Cross Community Church (AKA PPBC), where he served as a trustee.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Hill; his father, Claude Hill; his mother, Geneva (Tanner) Hill; his granddaughter, Katelyn Krumrey; and his grandson, Grant Hill.

He is survived by his son and daughter‑in‑law, Brad and Stacey Hill, and his son and daughter‑in‑law, Don and Terra Hill; eight grandchildren; and three great‑grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley Ross Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Blue Funeral Home, 1704 N. Court St., Marion, Illinois. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery.
