Gregory Allan Barbaro

Gregory Allan “Monkey” Barbaro, 61, passed away on June 6, 2026, at Axiom Gardens in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Greg was born on April 16, 1965, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of Patrick and Patricia Ann Barbaro. He worked as a handyman and was known by many friends and family by his nickname, “Monkey.” Greg was a free spirit who enjoyed listening to music and spending time with friends. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his sister, Beth; his nephew; and his stepmother, Susan Barbaro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Barbaro; his mother, Patricia Barbaro; his grandmother, Virginia Vinson; and his niece, Jacqueline York.

In accordance with his wishes, Gregory will be cremated, and no public services will be held.
