Carterville-Gladys Whitecotton, 82, died 2:23 A.M., Monday, August 02, 2004 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. She was born February 21, 1922 in Marengo, Indiana. Her parents was John M. & Nancy E. (Andrews) McIntosh. She married Harmen A. Whitecotton on March 7, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2003. She was a member of Crossroads Tabernacle Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Survivors Include: One Daughter: Betty Peters of Rockford, IL Five Sons & Daughter In Laws: Chester & Brenda Brady of Lynn Haven, FL Clifford & Beverly Brady of Carterville Charles & Karen Whitecotton of Carterville Ron & Kim Whitecotton of Marion Carl & Pat Whitecotton of Peoria, IL Seventeen Grandchildren: Russ, Lisa, Kathy, John, Connie, Cliff, Mike, Patty, Ron Jr., Katrina, Carl, Carolyn, Doug, Gary, Chad, Kristal and Angie Seventeen Great Grandchildren: John Jr., Brett, Cody, Hearligh, Nicole, Jeff, Samantha, Dilon, Austin, Livvie, Lexy, Megan, Hillary, Josh, Breanna, Johnathon and Haley Two Great Great Grandchildren: Kelsey and Colten. Preceded by parents, husband, daughter Mary Gossman and son Robert Brady. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Naomi Carter will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the funeral home.
