George Duty Marion-George Duty, 63, died 7:45 A.M., Friday, December 5, 2003 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. George was born May 12, 1940 in Williamson County to Hiram Jack & Vada Marie (Casey) Duty. He married Rosie Weekly on May 14, 1960 in Johnson County and she survives. George was a retired supervisor from Sahara Coal mine. He was a member of the Progressive Miners Union. He was a deacon at Angelville Baptist Church where he was a member for several years. He served as republican party precinct committeeman for four years. Survivors Include: Son & Daughter In Law: David & Crystal Duty of Pittsburg Daughter & Son In Law: Tammy & Mark Hutson of Pittsburg Three Grandchildren: Chris & Dillon Duty of Pittsburg Nicole Hutson of Pittsburg Three Brothers: Blaine Duty & wife Sue of Raymond, IL Dallas Duty & wife Jane of Crab Orchard John Duty & wife Kathy of Marion One Sister: Minnie Jo Tanner & husband Ronnie of New Burnside Father In Law: John Weekly of Marion Brother In Law: Ronnie Weekly & wife Joann of Simpson, IL. Six Nieces & four Nephews also survive. Also several great nieces & nephews survive. He was preceded by his parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 8, 2003 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant (Poordo) Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Sunday, December 7th at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
