Gary William Page, age 78, of Marion, passed away on January 18, 2026, in Marion, Illinois surrounded by his family.
Gary was born on February 12, 1947, in Carbondale, Illinois to William Earl Page and Verna Lee (Frey) Page. He was a graduate of Marion High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Navy Seabee from 1965-1967. During that time as a dedicated soldier, he helped to rebuild military bases. After his service, he found trades in many fields including rebuilding bridges with the Ironworkers or working as an electrician. He eventually started a career working at the Marion VA Medical Center in Engineering as an electrician where he worked for 27 years and retired from.
He was a loving father who cherished his time with family. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, working on cars and always helping others. He always had a smile on his face. He loved laughing, Coca-Cola, his Winstons, and he loved his Westerns and cowboy shows.
He is survived by his three children; Rachelle (Paul) Joyner, Brandon Page and Bryceson (Courtney) Page and his brother Robert (Tammy) Hearn. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Nathaniel, Sophia, Addyson, Olivia and many other cousins and relatives that loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patti LaGue, and his parents.
The family thanks everyone for their kindness and support. Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time. Donations on his behalf may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory. He was a faithful monthly donor and deeply believed in their mission.
