Gary Michael Brown

June 5, 1951 — February 2, 2026

Gary Michael Brown, born June 5, 1951, to Douglas C. Brown and Mary (McClaine) Brown, passed away on February 2, 2026.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife, Dianna Brown, whom he devotedly cared for and cherished. A true gentleman in every sense, Mike showed his love through quiet acts of service always opening doors, always making sure those he loved were cared for first.

He was a proud father to his daughters Viki, Dawn, and stepdaughter Sarah, and to his son Michael and stepson Marc. Mike took immense pride in his family and never missed a moment that mattered. From school events to milestones big and small, he showed up every time.

One of Mike’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. He adored his many grandchildren: Johnathan, Michayla, Bryleigh, Whinry, Ruby, Fisher, Reid, Elle, Rohan, Eleana , Riddick, Brayden, Daniel, Makayla, Tyler, and Katie. Whether it was making them laugh with his dancing, telling jokes, or simply being present, he had a way of turning ordinary moments into memories they will carry forever.

Mike also held a special place in his heart as an uncle, deeply loving and proud of his many nieces and nephews.

A proud United States Marine, Mike carried the values of discipline, loyalty, and service throughout his life. He was a natural with numbers—a true math genius—and equally gifted with humor. His quick wit, playful dance moves, and unmistakable laugh could light up a room and send his grandchildren into fits of giggles.

An avid fisherman, Mike found peace near the water, rod in hand, content in the quiet moments that mirrored the steady, grounded way he lived his life.

Mike was a man of strong Christian faith and spent countless hours serving his church through volunteering and quiet dedication. He lived his beliefs not just in words, but in action—through kindness, humility, service, and love for others.

Mike was also a loving brother. He is survived by his siblings Kim and Doug, and reunited in heaven with his brothers Ronnie and Keith.

Above all else, Mike was a man of unwavering presence. He loved fiercely, protected quietly, and gave fully. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him—not just for what he did, but for how he made people feel: safe, loved, and never alone.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, under the direction of Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Redemption Church in Johnston City.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
