Frankie Paulette Campbell, 83, of Marion, Illinois, joined her Heavenly Father and her husband in Heaven on June 29, 2024, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Frankie was born on June 1, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William and Georgia (Oneal) Harrell.
Frankie grew up in New Burnside and met the love of her life William “Bill” Campbell at the sweet age of 16. They married on October 21, 1957, and were blessed with almost 65 years of marriage before his passing on October 9, 2022. Frankie was a proud United States Airforce wife, supporting her husband throughout his military career. During his career they enjoyed traveling all around the world for over 20 years. Mrs. Campbell was known around the military bases for her candied apples, cakes, pies and brownies. She loved being a “Granny” and attending her grandchildren’s ballgames and dance recitals. She loved her family with her whole heart and was always making sure everyone was happy.
Surviving are her son William Scott Campbell, her daughters LaRhonda (Keith) Beasley, and Starla (Charlie) Price; her grandchildren Raegan Nicole (Campbell) Doerge, Kristin (Justin) Brooks, Holly Newlin, Crystal (Aaron) Tanner, Lacey Peldo; her great-grandchildren Jaydin and Jaxin Brooks, Grant and Drew Newlin, Carsyn and Cainyn Peldo, Peyton and Paislee Tanner, Jayme Brown; special nephews and nieces Sandy (Robby) Herpel, DeWayne (Denise) Vetter, Joe Vetter; bonus daughter Lisa Sullivan; best friend since childhood Janice Bundren and her fur baby Abby, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Russell Campbell, sisters Phyllis Vegich, Shirley Beaumont, and Betty L. Cross.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Rosehill Cemetery in Marion, with Pastor Darrell Ford officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery shortly before 1:00 P.M.
Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements. In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be made to St. Francis Animal Shelter and may be mailed to 6228 Country Club Road Murphysboro, Illinois 62966 and envelopes will also be available at the graveside.
