Floe Cross

MARION-Floe Cross, 87, of Marion passed away at 4:50 PM, Monday, January 31, 2005 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 4, 2005 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Jerry Ford officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 3, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Mrs. Cross was born on August 26, 1917 in Charleston, Missouri to Hosea and Nola (Parks) Tanner. She married M.D. Cross on February 4, 1940 in Charleston, Missouri and he survives. Other survivors daughter, Theresa Vincelette of Marion; granddaughter, that Floe & M.D. helped raise, Sheila and Eddie Hodge; grandsons, Shawn and Tim Vincelette; and great grandchildren, Seth and Gabriella Hodge and Nicholas Vincelette. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dale Hanks; and brother, Guy Tanner. Mrs. Cross formerly owned Hucks Convenience Store, Parkview Store and Four Seasons Flower Shop all in Marion. She was a member of Third Baptist Church since 1943.
