Evelyn Johnson

Herrin- Evelyn Johnson, age 87, of Herrin, passed away at 6:03pm on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Evelyn was born in Weaver, IL on May 18, 1927, the daughter of Elijah and Gypsy (Copus) Green. She married Howard Eugene Johnson in West Frankfort on March 1, 1945. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1993. Evelyn had retired from Allen Industries. Graveside services will be held at Herrin City Cemetery at 11:00am on Monday, March 16, 2015 with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.  Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
