Eunice Mays

Mrs. Eunice Mays, 81, of Herrin died at 6:00 AM, Thursday, August 29, 2002 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin. She was born September 12, 1920 in Makanda to William & Mary (Dillow) Gregg. She married Howard Mays on October 2, 1936 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1963. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Herrin. Survivors include: Mr. Jack Mays & wife Elizabeth of Herrin, IL-Son Mr. Johnnie Mays of Marion, IL-Son Mrs. Judy Walker & husband Kenneth- Herrin- Daughter Eugene Gregg of Herrin, IL-Brother James & wife Nadine Gregg- Herrin- Brother Seven Grandchildren Twelve Great Grandchildren Several-Nieces & Nephews Her parents, husband, three daughters, three sons, one brother, and one sister preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2002, at 11:00 AM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Rev. Kenny Shelton will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
